
Hydra Engineering & Construction was the Prime Contractor for this project. Tate’s Hell State Forest is a continuous tract of over 202,000 acres of public land that consist largely of wetlands. Hydra’s construction work was spread across 36 locations and included construction/ replacement of 624 LF of culverts at 13 locations; the building of 12 low water crossings, 18 individual ditch plugs at 13 locations (3 at culvert locations), and 1 optional road repair. Work involved the excavation and movement of 1,730CY of existing material, placement of existing and new material including 800 tons of #68 limestone, 500 tons of 8” diameter limestone, 1,100 tons of 2”-4” diameter limestone, and an additional 30 tons of #68 limestone at the road repair location.
